I Need Your Help With Something

This is our master bedroom

This is a duvet cover that I'm head-over-heels crazy about.

Here it is again in a different color way.

Do you think either of these duvets would look nice in the space?

The other elements in the room to consider are this chair...

The dresser and lamps...

...and the headboard has a deep gray velvet underneath it's white summer cover-up.

I'd love to hear what you all think. Is the duvet too much? Or, is it that much needed pop that the room is lacking?

Personally...I'd go for it. The yellow would definitely add a splash of color. The white is also beautiful. They would both go beautifully with your curtains and headboard.

Teresa, I don't think your bedroom looks like it NEEDS anything. I personally love the elegant simplicity of it. That being said, I do love the Dwell duvets you showed, and either would make quite an impact in the room...give it a bit more graphic, edgier look you know? I think if you DO go with one of them, breaking it up with some solid sheeting and other pillows to lessen the pattern and have it be a little more understated. As for which colour, both would look lovely...the only thing I'm wondering about is which would look best with your chair fabric...it's hard to tell online.

You're so talented, I'm sure whatever the decision the result will be stunning...just make sure to show us pictures!!!

While both are beautiful, I think the white one will freshen things up a bit.

I think the yellow would look amazing! It would pick up the frames and artwork above the bed, and the curtains would still match. I think the more traditional dresser would balance out the more modern pattern too. Your gut is right - go for it.

I think I like the way it is but that yellow one is SUPER cute! I am terrible at making decisions so I should not even comment!

I too am obsessed with the citron peacock! For my guest bedroom though, which has a black bed and Amazing Gray walls. Am planning on painting one of my side tables in the peacock color and using matching white lamps for a pop. I want something punchy for my guest room.

For my master, I would choose the more soothing color-way. But that's just me. I always go for soothing colors in the master because I have trouble sleeping and want my master to have as calm a color palette as I can.

But it all depends on what you're going for...soothing master or are you looking for some pizazz in that room? I think the other items in your room will look great with either colorway too.

OMG, it is like they were made for your room. The blue/grey would be so elegant. The yellow would be off the wall great for interest and color. I don't think you could go wrong with either but you must must must get it.
I love the plain duvet with the piping but it isn't even in the same league as this duvet.

I really love the lighter one. It picks up the color of the drapes, the chair, the lamps and the headboard... this is the one that I would probably keep longer.

Thank you

I think they are both awesome! The yellow duvet really picks up on your artwork but is super punchy and fun. The white/gray duvet has all your colors and it is a no brainer. If you are feeling bold, I would go with the yellow. If you want it to mesh with everything you have and just become part of the whole, I would go with white.

PS, I L.O.V.E love peacocks!

Both would go beautifully. The yellow would add impact. My instinct says go for the yellow. :-)

Go for it! I think that the yellow one would add a bit of playful color. That is what I would do!

I personally love the yellow. The lighter one would blend in beautifully with what you have now, but I think the yellow would just look amazing!

I love your bedroom, it's gorgeous! and I think the yellow would look great, blues, and yellows work so well
Let us know what you decide :)

I would NOT go for the yellow, for these reasons.

1) The yellow with the gold frames above the bed might be a bit too much together

2) It appears the curtains would match both bedspreads, but the chair would only match the white/gray/blue one

3) I'm guessing your husband would prefer the white/gray/blue over yellow, and its nautical colors might match your decor better?

Of course they're both fabulous! Good luck!

I wouldn't even think twice about it T! I love the yellow one, it's very bold. But, I also love the white one. I think either would go perfectly.

I think the yellow would really pop against your gorgeous curtains. The white/grey version is lovely too (and truth be told, that's probably the one I would go for if it were my room- I like more muted tones in my bedroom).

While I think the yellow is ALL kinds of amazing, I think the other would be better in your space. It's not so much the juxtaposition of the chair I take issue with, but I think it would compete with your artwork. Personally, I would tire of so much yellow pretty quickly.

That being said, it IS really fun and WOULD be a bold statement. And one you could always switch! I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a sucker for anything white, but I think the lighter color, against your gray headboard with that artwork would be fabulous!

Love the white colorway. I say YES!

Oh my, I love the duvet covers. I think the white would look amazing in your bedroom and would go very well with what you already have in the room. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Think the yellow or blue would look great folded over the end of the bed and some matching shams - and leave the white you have as the "base".

You have incredible taste. Trust your instincts! If you love it, get it. If it looks bad, return it or use it in a guest bedroom.

I do agree with others that the yellow duvet might not look so great with the art. If you get the yellow, you might want to consider something very neutral or simple above the bed.

Question: How did you make your headboard summer cover-up?

As for the duvets I love them - the first is very punchy, the second is more muted and probably would fit right in with what you have going on now.

YELLOW ONE FOR SURE!!

I love how your bedroom is now too but it's nice to change up the all-white every once in a while (what we have ourselves) and when you come back to all-white it just feels so good too.

The yellow would be AMAZING in your room!! very real. LOVE IT

Seriously... You have to ask *us*??!!! ;-)

I was totally on board with the yellow until I saw the one with the white background... and then I saw the chair... and knew that the white one was the one I'd pick. but I'm sure your room will look great no matter what!!

I didn't like it for OUR room, but for your: Go for it. Either colour. ;)

It's blue in both, that matches the curtains, and the yellow will match the photos.

Again: Go for it!

Your room already looks gorgeous but I would go with the white duvet.

Umm please do the yellow - just to totally do something different and make it look a little lonny! But if you're very nervous then go with the other colorway. Either way i love the duvet!

I like both, and think either would go well in your space (which I think looks fab as is). However, I tend to favor the white. They are both gorgeous though!

Love love love the yellow. i think it will complement your curtains very well.

I vote for the white one. I think the yellow with your artwork above your bed might compete with each other too much.

Love them both, though.

Just discovered your blog...your designs are incredible!

I've been debating getting the duvet set for a bit now, and after seeing the colors in your room I think I can envision it a bit more (the curtains are the exact color I was going for that I plan to make myself.) I say go for it!

I love, love, love your bedroom as it is, but I agree with the others, a new duvet would perk things up - especially for summer!

With that said, I really adore the canary/goldenrod color for your room. I feel like the white/blue/gray duvet might be a bit too chilly with the darker wood and cerulean blue curtains. The canary would be absolutely beautiful with the rest of the room! Good luck and I hope it turns out well :)

I <3 them! I personally would say the white/blue. Your master bedroom right now is calm and elegant. The punch of yellow would be a little overwhelming. But whatever you decide will be enchanting!
