A Quick Trip to New York

Makes you hungry, no? I was only in NYC overnight to hang out with my Sister-in-law who just moved to the Upper West Side from Boston and I had a very short list of things I HAD to do while visiting...

1. Go to Russ and Daughters for bagels and lox. People who are unfamiliar, Russ and Daughters is quite possibly the best place in all of New York City for smoked fish. Anthony Bourdain, my favorite television personality, names this deli as one of his 13 Places to Eat Before You Die. Best lox EVERRRRRRRRRRR.

2. Head to Zabars to buy some of their amazing coffee to bring home. I also got sidetracked at their fantastic cheese counter and had to sample a few, of course. I fell head over heals for a triple creme named Pierre Robert.

3. Hang out in Central Park. Central Park is probably my second most favorite place (first being the Met) in all of NYC. Gray is now old enough to actually notice his surroundings, so it's fun to bring him there.

What $75,000,000 Will Getcha

I'm heading to the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse today and thought I'd check out the sales listing for this year's townhome. I can't wait to see what a $75,000,000 home looks like on the inside...I better be impressed...seriously impressed...sheesh.

Sakura Matsuri

Just thought I'd share some pics of the Sakura Martsuri festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens that I took yesterday...

It was breathtaking (and crowded)

...and now back to packing. Ugh.

Play Time On The Upper East Side

It's been just plain yucky outside lately...rainy, windy, cloudy, just blah. So, when I saw the blue sky appear this afternoon, I just knew I had to get myself outside to enjoy the break in bad weather. My first stop was to Payard Patisserie for a coffee and pastry. Not only are the chocolates and pastries to die for, but the interior design is also divine...think 1930's Paris perhaps?

I devoured this lovely little banana tart!

And onto my next stop...Central Park. There is nothing like "the Park" in the Spring. It just doesn't get any better than this...

And on my towards the subway, I came upon these two little "love birds" in a window. Aaaaw.

Got Milk?

I couldn't help chuckling as I walked past this store front on Madison Ave. What is "Bessy" doing on the same street as Vera Wang and Christian Louboutin? Oh well, she looked cute and brought a smile to my face.

Love Affair With My Neighborhood

It could be the fact that we will be moving to the "burbs" (Stamford, CT) in less than a month or just the warm, sunny weather, but I was swooning over my neighborhood on my walk home today.

The view from my front door.

My street.
Ah, if only I had a cool 3M+ to own one of these beauties. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my last 27 days in this great Brooklyn neighborhood.

House Number Not Necessary

I don't know how I've never noticed this house before today?! Now, I love me some pink but this might just be a little over-the-top. I wonder what the inside is like?
