Too Tired To Create A Clever Title

{photos taken a week before baby Grayson arrived}

So, this blog is going through an identy crisis (as am I, but that's a whole other story). When I first started posting a year ago, we were living in Brooklyn NY and I was a full time interior design student at the New York School of Interior Design with a husband, a cat and no kids.

I had no idea blogging would be so much fun nor did I know that I would "meet" so many great people in Blogland. At that time I was fully consumed with interior design and this blog was just a little outlet for me to share my ideas with others. Well, a lot has changed in a year.

We decided to move to the 'burbs and start a family and design school has been put on hold until this summer. Now, I find myself obsessed with our new little one and all things to do with raising a child. Gone are the days of contemplating what paint color to paint my bathroom, scouring the internet for designer furniture knock-offs and spending countless hours at my drafting table. This also has to do with the fact that I'm rather happy with the state of our current home and have no more works-in-progress (phew!).

I guess this is my long-winded way of saying that this blog may take a turn down Mommy Lane because that's just where I'm at right now. I hope you'll join me in this new journey!

I have been reading on and off now for a while and the same exact thing happened to me. :) But I find that readers love getting the personal stuff too because it gives a life behind the blog.
Looking forward to more of your story!!

I love the design blogs and I still throw in my inspirations but then I do a 180 and talk about the zoo or the fact that I am so sleep deprived. It's our lives and that's what's so great about it.

Motherhood is just one more dimension to add to your life - and it's a great one! Every stage is better than the one before it!

I was afraid this was going to happen.
"The doctors says the baby is in the 60th percentile for his and weight and.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" We don't even know what that means.

Welcome to Mommy Lane!! You're going to like it here. . .

Actually, anon, a lot of us know what that means. You might need to head on over to a non personal blog like AT or something. I have two little ones of my own and I will love to hear alllll about this baby. When I see a beautfully decorated room or house, the first thing I think is Wow, what kind of person or family lives there? And don't worry about the identity crisis...you'll still be a great designer and mother.

I came upon your blog when I was searching the internet for photos of kitchens to inspire my own kitchen renovation. I discovered your blog and really enjoyed all your design ideas and before and after photos of your home. Since then I've checked into your blog every once in awhile to see what's new design wise and baby wise. I've really enjoyed your blog ince I'm almost at the same point in my life as yourself. I've recently moved to the burbs of Vancouver, Canada, with hopes of starting a family and have been feverishly renovating my home to just how I like it. I love decorating and renovating my home, and at the same time I am hopeful that I'll be pregnant someday soon! Thanks for your blog, I'll be sure to keep checking in!
