It's Here, It's Here!

The glider finally arrived today! Now all the major elements for the nursery are here. The slipcover still needs some ironing. I have to say, it's amazingly comfortable!

This is the area of the wall that I'm contemplating painting a tree mural. I don't have any other art for the room yet. What do you think? Mural or no?

I think a tree mural would be lovely especially if you don't have any other art in the room. It would fill up that corner nicely.

Another take on tree murals are these beautiful decals: http://kidshaus.typepad.com/kidshaus/2008/01/inke-wallpaper.html

I am envious of the glider. I am living in South Norwalk btw, also moved here from NYC, my hubby works in Stamford and we're expecting a girl in June, I was also thinking of doing a tree mural and maybe a scattering of large butterflies in the ceiling.

I say mural! Nothing complicated, but something really simple and soft! Love the glider against the blue walls! So pretty!

You could definitely do a mural there! Something simple like that family tree you did would be lovely.

But if you're considering alternatives for that area, (and what better time to be boggled with ideas than at the end of your pregnancy, right?) you could do a few frames with black and white family photographs/sillhouettes/nursery images.

When I saw the "it's here, it's here", I thought you meant the baby!

I love tree murals and I think that would be a perfect spot for one.

But it doesn't HAVE to be a tree mural unless you are in love with the idea. What a different concept? A city skyscape ala the Sex and City logo, a whimsically large flower garden or sweet shop? There are probably loads of things I'm not thinking of but I can't wait to see what you do.

Another option below. I think this concept is pretty freaking genius. (You could do it with any paint by number image and scale it back a lot too)

A whole wall would be too much but you could take a piece of a paint by number and use that.

I'd rather see more traditional artwork than a mural. The aqua is modern enough alone.

I think that mural would look awesome! But don't beat yourself up over it if you just can't get to it. Wanderluster has a great idea with the decals if you can find one you like! You are going to be so glad you got that glider girl! For real! You'll use it a lot!

Love the glider! I think a tree mural would be lovely in that spot.

I say no mural...I think that the use of graphic branch shapes in home decor has seen it glory days...I'm just waiting on the home blog community to catch up on the fact that it's a littler bit 2005. You're beautiful nursery is such a classic, stylish space, I'm not sure I'd tamper with that feeling.

What a beautiful rocker - I love the contrasting piping. When I got a rocker (many years ago - my youngest is now 6) someone recommended that I spray it with scotchguard. That worked so well - when I ended up selling the rocker on Craigslist, the people who bought it thought it looked brand new!

Your nursery is gorgeous. A mural would be beautiful, I think.

I love the mural idea...go for it!

That is absolutely the most beautiful glider...I had no idea gliders could be so beautiful!

I wouldn't do a tree mural. Get a great piece of artwork instead.

LOVE the new glider!
I have no advice, I'm decorating challenged (though I am getting better!)

That glider is really cute! I just got mine too...sooo comfy! I think the mural is a fun idea. I was looking into decals, but didn't find anything yet that I like.

I guess this means that you will be having houseguests over to rock your cutesy baby in your comfy new rocker (and when I say houseguests I mean me).

Why not? - The room colour is so pretty I think a mural will only enhance what you have achieved already. Such a gorgeous nursery, xv.

I love this glider! My husband and I have searched all over for the perfect glider for our nursery. What brand is this and where did you buy it? Please email me at ndwilson2180@yahoo.com.

It's picture perfect. Totally thought it was just the pic from a magazine or catalog. Gorgeous. Mural would like beautiful but so pretty on it's own. I must know what color paint you used? It's stunning. What brand? Thanks. Best of luck!

A small cropping - maybe three - of delicate birch trees. The off white and pale grey of the trees would look great against your wall color. Soft, simple and ethereal, as opposed to the typical brown tree, which seems dated now.

Congrats on your beautiful precious baby!

That is a rather cute mural...but if you are open to wall decals, they are no fuss, easy to remove, and come is sooo many styles. There are a ton of shops on Etsy, but here is one of my faves... http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5514532 ...I can't wait to see what you decide to do in the room. You have such great taste!
