I found this little dresser for $60 at Goodwill. It was a little beat up, but had great bones and joints. I knew with a fresh coat of paint (well, two coats as well as primer) it could be the perfect dresser for the nursery.
I used BM China White (satin) with a hint of BM China Blue (the wall color in the room) for the exterior. I love the subtle hint of blue it has now.
For the interior of the drawers I used China Blue with a hint of white so that the blue wasn't as strong as the wall color.

Mrs.L - I used a brush for the whole thing.
Things That Inspire - It actually didn't take me too long...my husband used a palm sander to lightly sand the poly off and then primed the piece - took him about an hour total. It took me a day to give it two coats of paint considering drying time. Not too bad.

Have you ever used liquid sandpaper (I think that is what it is called) to get the old finish off? Seems like it would be easier, and yet, it seems like sanding would be much less toxic and more thorough.

I am finishing my nursery for the little girl who is due in 5 weeks! What kind of paint did you use (brand and finish). I have found that when I paint wood the top is sticky even months later, which is frustrating....Thanks!
