Blame It On My Raging Hormones

I just have to vent for a sec...maybe it's just major pregnancy crabbiness kicking in, but I've been losing my patience with poor etiquette lately. Now don't get me wrong, I'm by no means Emily Post, but I consider myself about average in the ranks of etiquette.

So, here is my latest peeve. While having a lunch with a friend today we were interupted numerous times by an annoyingly loud cell phone ring coming from a man at the neighboring table. He was clearly ignoring the calls, but just let the phone (clipped to his belt which is a peeve of the fashion sense in itself) ring and ring. I almost flung a french fry (hey, I'm allowed, I'm pregnant) at him after the third time it happened. I mean, come on cell phone guy, haven't you heard of the vibrate option?

Don't you just want to smack those people? Ok, vent over.

Have a great weekend, Everyone!

Yes, I am totally with ya...would LOVE to haul off and smack a few of these sorts...I really think it's an ego problem..some people love to hear their cell phones ring and feel control if they don't answer...Next time, go ahead..throw the french fry!!! :)

hey, I'm a lurker but I'm totally with you-people and cell phones drive me crazy! Please, turn them off in a movie and for goodness sakes don't answer and have a full conversation-I don't care how quiet you think you are. I guess I have a little bit of a rant too!

Hi teresa, we have gone through the same thing, it's very rude and annoying. One time my husband did tell someone to please answer their phone, they were sitting right behind us at a restaurant, he got all huffy and left the table, when he left, his wife said thankyou for telling him, she said he does that all the time. I think she was kind of scared to mention it to him, he had a very bad temper, poor lady having to live with him.

Oh I TOTALLY agree. Worse still, my dad cannot get through a conversation without check his blackberry (and responding to messages) about 10 times. He calls it his "crackberry" but, honestly, it's moved beyond an addiction into the realm of just-plain-rude. Thank you for venting, we all could learn a lesson!

My peeve is people who wear their bluetooth all of the time. All of a sudden, they start randomly speaking and you realize it's to someone else. RUDE! I have a (soon to be ex-) friend who does this a lot. She's worried she might miss a call. ggrrrrrr

That photo is hilarious! I would have thrown a french fry at him and made sure there was ketchup on it too! Annoying!

hahaha I so remember feeling like that during my last trimester of pregnancy- other people's lack of consideration used to get me so fired up! (letting doors fall on you, cutting in line, etc.)

Yes that would have driven me crazy. I get annoyed with people walking along talking to themselves in the store only to realize they have a phone piece in their ear.
